The CD2514 is designed for high quality audio system applications where really high SPL and minimal distortion are critical. The drivers feature a 1.4-inch exit throat and a 2,5-inch coil diameter.
They are available with two magnet materials and three different domes made in titanium, advanced polyester and high temperature polymer. These three materials each possess unique physical properties that allow system designers to choose between three different characters within a similar range of power and sensitivity.
Both Neodymium and Ferrite version share the brand new DEPLOCEX technology by Beyma making them more efficient and more immune to power compression phenomenon.
All three have high efficiency and excellent transient response. While titanium is very linear with a slight decay towards high frequencies, high temperature polymer has a higher sensitivity at 5KHz and above providing that extra presence sometime required for longer throw systems or reverberant environments. On the other hand, polyester with a lower modulus of elasticity has a smother response with an enhancement from 15KHz that will provide a pleasant sensation of air in the sound of the enclosures.
The neodymium magnet version allows to improve performance and reduce the weight and size of the set. For applications in which weight is not so important, the ferrite version can almost match its neodymium sibling in performance while maintaining cost.
